This is not window cleaning!

This is not window cleaning!  But it is how many people think a window is cleaned.  I know the director of this video is not going for the  how-to approach on the professional techniques of the window washing.   Yet, he unwittingly depicts window cleaner as a ignorant bunch of nicotine addicted towel using glass cleaners.  I do applaud his camera use and angles and crisp images.  But, this is not window cleaning it’s glass cleaning…  And you don’t get paid to clean glass you get paid to clean windows.

Here are some supplies that he should have had to do the job right.

Published on June 18, 2009 at 04:50PM

(SALT LAKE CITY)—A window washer was injured when his rope chair gave way and he swung 30 feet while crashing into a window. The man was working by himself Thursday and was lowering himself down from a five-story building when his rigging failed. He fell halfway down through the building and swung into and through a window. He was able to lower himself to the ground and workers in the area saw what happened and assisted him. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition with cuts to his head while officers have not released his name or that of the company for which he works. A 21-year old woman, sitting inside the building, was also injured. She suffered minor cuts from the shattered glass and was also treated and released at the scene.

A window washer suffered serious lacerations to his head when he broke through a third-floor window he was washing Thursday afternoon at 370 E. South Temple, said Salt Lake City police spokeswoman Lara Jones. Shards of glass also fell into the lobby of the building, where a woman suffered minor cuts.

The washer managed to lower himself to the ground, Jones said. He was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive.

Window Cleaner Review: Kennedy bros window washing

It’s always nice to see window cleaners thinking out side the box.  Here is the Kennedy Steven and Paul are Brothers in a short YouTube vid.

Kennedy Brothers is a professional window cleaning company and has been serving satisfied customers in San Diego County for the past 9 years. The name says it all…we are two brothers who began in 1999…”

With this little vid they really cover one the most common reason customs are afraid to use or try a different window cleaning service.  What is that question? It the one the customer will never speak out loud but you know they are thinking it…  Who Are You?

Yes, no one is going to open up the door to their home if they don’t know you…  The simple vid answers that and even show the personality of the Brothers.  The video says family, trust and professionalism.  Althought their website is a bit dry they do have a nice flash photo gallery ate the bottom. http://kbroswindows.com

US Windows Cleaner Falls from the six-floor

New direction for my blog.  Since my readers are few and far between cumming from a few different places.  It’s not any fault of yours or mine, rather just the subject matter.  With so many other sites focused on the same subject I thought it would be a good time to go back to the sites basic idea.  Bring news and information about window cleaning to the masses.

This just in:

US cleaner beats six-floor tumble

Window cleaners [file pic]Alex Clay says he realised he had no choice but to let go

An American window cleaner who fell from the outside of a building six floors up has survived the “surreal” tumble with minor injuries.

Alex Clay, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, told the BBC he was forced to hold on with bare hands after colleagues had trouble connecting his harness.

But as they tried to repair the line Mr Clay said he became overcome with tiredness and was forced to let go.

A safety line failed, but his fall was broken before he hit the pavement.

An overhanging roof on the first floor broke his fall, and he hit the cement roof before he bounced onto the pavement.

Example:

You want to start an eazy, not brainer window washing business. You think, hey anyone can do it and it’s the easyer then getting paid to watch pait dry… Right?  WRONG!

You must be commited to giving up a lot of time and even money to start out.  You can’t just do a blog or website and say ‘I’m a window cleaner”  For example check out this site….
